Hand Cut Paving: natural Indian stone

All our products are ethically sourced from around the world, and our hand cut Indian stone is a top quality 1st grade product. Alongside porcelain paving, these are the natural stones we stock. Stone can look very different wet and dry, so it's well worth coming to see it in the yard.

  • Raj Green

    Also known as Raj Blend

A mixture of green, brown and grey. Perhaps the best known Indian stone, and often the choice for projects that need a look similar to Yorkstone.

  • Rippon Buff

A very varied blend of colours, used by many landscapers who want extra brightness and a multicolour look. The swirls and veins in the blend are what make it so appealing.

  • Fossil Mint

    Also known as Fossil Buff

Light creamy tones with occasional imprints of fern patterns. Ideal for brightening even the most shaded area, it gives a warm and vibrant look to any project.

  • Autumn Brown

    Also known as Autumn Bronze

Premium grade Indian stone, 25mm to 35mm thick, and one of the most popular stones we sell: a mixture of warm autumn tones to complement your property.

  • Autumn Grey

    Also known as Kandla Grey

Consistently grey, with occasional brown markings that are part of the stone's natural patina. Over time it weathers to give long lasting character to any project.

  • Golden Brown

    Also known as Sunset Buff

Rich golden, yellow and brown shades with occasional salmon pink. Very similar to newly quarried buff Yorkstone from the quarries of West Yorkshire.

  • Kota Black

A limestone: jet black when new, mellowing over time to charcoal grey tones. To keep its jet black colour it must be sealed, so please ask us for advice.

  • Modak Pink

    Also known as Modak Rose

Mainly dusty pink with occasional golden veins. It becomes very colourful and vibrant when wet, and can be sealed to give that look all year round.

  • Black Sandstone

Also known as Saga Black, as it is known in India

A dark charcoal sandstone with occasional brown veins, often used in restoration projects for the timeless appearance of old Yorkstone.

One project pack, five sizes

Our Raj Green is hand cut at a thickness of 25mm-35mm with a natural riven surface. It comes in a five size project pack that covers 16.3m² when laid with a 10mm-15mm joint. We also split packs, so you can buy however many square metres you need.

Some projects don't suit premixed packs, so we keep extensive stocks of single sizes too: choose whatever combination works best and is most cost effective for you.

“We went to Stone Valley looking for a specific porcelain slab we'd seen on someone's patio. Unable to find this we continued with the porcelain search, having ruled out stone completely. Everyone was telling us that porcelain was the way forward! We spent over an hour looking at everything that they had available, as there were several patio displays to look at. We were drawn to the stone, but voiced our concerns about maintenance etc. Richard and Gemma were both very knowledgeable about their products, and were able to talk about the pros and cons of the different materials available. It was a dry day, so the stone looked pale and dusty, so we poured water over them to unmask the true look of the slabs. We came back next day to look again, and they'd had a more thorough clean. The tiles had been laid over 15 years ago, and still absolutely superb. We decided to buy these. The complete opposite of what we thought we wanted. Product knowledge is key, along with a friendly, non intrusive manner. We were very pleased we came. A little off the main road. Look out for the sign with the red writing. Well worth a visit!”

Delivered on our own lorries, all over the UK

Our business is built on our customers, and one of the main issues in our industry is getting products delivered on time and in good condition. That's why, in the early days, we invested in our own vehicles: they give us total control and keep costs to a minimum.

  • We don't use pallet delivery networks, because of the many horror stories of broken materials and kerbside drops.
  • All our vehicles are fitted with hiab cranes for a fast and efficient offload, and our fully trained drivers will unload materials where you need them on site.
  • Because of the weight of our lorries we can't drive onto existing driveways in case of damage, but we will always lift materials as close as we can.
  • Our drawbar trailers give us better access, and we can deliver loads of up to 400m² in one delivery.
  • Forklift delivery is available too: just ask when you order.
  • Prices quoted for paving include delivery, so please have your postcode to hand when you call.

It's why we supply many builders merchants and garden centres, as well as landscapers and homeowners.

Come and see the display areas

You are very welcome to visit us and walk round our display areas, which will give you some truly inspiring ideas for a stunning project. We're a little off the main road at the old quarry in Roughcote, Caverswall: look out for the sign with the red writing.

  1. From the A50 at Meir

Head along the A520 towards Leek, through Weston Coyney and into open countryside. You'll pass Roughcote Lane on the right; the road then widens and we are the next turning on the right, down a long drive that opens out into the old quarry complex.

  2. From Stoke-on-Trent on the A52

Turn right at the Cellarhead traffic lights and head down the A520 towards Meir. You'll pass Moorville Hall on the left, then Dalecrete, and we are the next turning on the left.

  3. From Leek on the A520

You'll pass Cheddleton and Wetley Rocks. Go straight on at the Cellarhead traffic lights, past Moorville Hall and Dalecrete, and we are the next turning on the left.

  4. From Derby and Nottingham on the A52

You'll pass Froghall and Kingsley Moor. Turn left at the Cellarhead traffic lights, pass Moorville Hall and Dalecrete, and we are the next turning on the left.
